This year we all braved the rain and the flooding to make it to this year's prom. I kept my fingers crossed and said a little prayer all the girls could get in before the rain hit (yes I'm a girl so I worry about their hair lol). Luckily it all worked out, and we got everybody in safe and sound before the rain started up again. This year's theme was "Wonderland" (from Alice Through the Looking Glass). This was such a fun theme to put together! The Student Council did an amazing job, and I was so glad I got to help out and be a part of it. I love getting to see the kids all dressed up and having a good time! Here are some highlights from the kids' big night...
Here are some of the prom decorations! The tables were set up as the Mad Hatter's Tea Party with a series of random cups, plates, and eclectic chairs to boot. And yes, if you are wondering, we did basically buy Goodwill out of all their glassware lol. This year we made a few changes to the traditional set up. Students entered the gym "through the rabbit hole" and we used the graduation stage for coronation! I also want to recognize the amazing Kambria Campbell for making that adorable sign (she is so talented!), and the beautiful Haeley Peters for figuring out a way to make flowers! This was way more simple (and prettier) than anything I could come up with! Putting this together was so much fun, and we had a great group of kids to make this happen! :)

My friend and fellow teacher, Jason Hall, does a wonderful job documenting all the important events at school. He spends a lot of his free time at school functions, sporting events, etc... taking pictures for the kids, and I know the kids love him for it! If you haven't had the chance to check out his prom gallery, I'm including the link below with mine.
