For those of you who know my dad, you have either seen or heard about the famous ponies – my dad’s team of half lingers, George and Howard. For many years he wanted a team of half lingers, and just a few years ago he lucked out and had the opportunity to buy these two. You have no idea how excited he was – as he always says “dreams really do come true.” Since then almost every weekend, he and my grandpa can be found driving the ponies on the little route they travel. Such a simple thing, but it brings him so much joy! Plus you should see all the little kids watching excitedly as they go by – it’s a rare occasion in this day and age to see a horse drawn wagon that’s for sure! I think this is such a cool thing not only because I like that old stuff (which I do) but also because this is something Dad and Grandpa do together.
Last Friday I got to spend part of the afternoon hanging out with my dad, grandpa and of course George and Howard. The boys decided they were going to haul hay at my grandparent’s house with the half lingers just for fun! Dad was so excited and had a great time doing this – “this is the most fun I’ve ever had hauling hay,” he said! I can just imagine life at another time when everyone traveled this way or, looking back at pictures from Friday, farming with a team. Also with the way our old equipment looks and the way the boys dress (minus Kell's t-shirt lol), some of these pictures look like they were taken in another day and age which is soooo cool in itself!
While this is not a “session” as my other posts have been I wanted to share because it was so much fun and these pictures mean a lot to my family and me. I am so glad I could be a part of this, capturing pictures I know my dad and the rest of my family will cherish for many years to come. I am also happy to be able to spend time with these two wonderful men – they have always been there for me and have helped make me the person I am today. I love them very much!! :)
I had a great time getting a few pictures for Kara’s Senior Rep cards (you can pick these up from her sometime next week!). She is beautiful, sweet and cracks me up – I always have fun with Kara! This “short session”(I say this because I took LOTS of pictures and Kara and I joked about how many we would take during her REAL Senior portrait session lol) was a blast, and it just makes me more and more excited about taking the rest of her pictures over the next few months!! I love my pretty little sister-in-law!! :)
I had so much fun taking pictures with these two adorable kids! They were both dolls! I loved listening to Skylar’s stories (she is so smart and a great storyteller) about Squeeky the frog (she and Kell were out catching frogs while I was taking some pictures of her little brother). I loved watching Korbin’s little eyes light up when he saw the old tractors in the barn or watching him play with an old Tonka truck. Korbin’s expressions were adorable – what a cutie! And Skylar… she is BEAUTIFUL – definitely a mini-me of her momma! Gotta love these two! :)
I loved spending the morning with my beautiful little niece. She is such a doll, and always fun to hang out with. This poor little girl is so used to me taking her picture – seriously you should have heard her at Christmas getting on to me when I put the camera down lol. Gotta love this little girl!! :)
What a great way to start out my sessions for 2013! I had a wonderful time taking pictures of the Tennyson girls. They are all as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside – such sweethearts! And that little Addie & Amelia were too cute!! I’m so glad I got to hang out with these girls and take some family pictures for them! :)
I absolutely loved hanging out with Gage and taking his pictures!! He is adorable and kept cracking me up! Plus you just gotta love a little guy in bibs! :)
I have been friends with Amanda since we started kindergarten so I was very excited about getting to take their family pictures last fall. Now they are expecting a baby girl– so excited for them! :)
Look at this guy... I got to take my handsome little brother's senior pictures. I had a wonderful time with him (as I always do) - he is such a sweetheart and can always crack me up! I think we got some great shots that day - seriously look at those pretty blue eyes!! Gotta love him!! :)
Chandan & Allee were the first kids I got to photograph. I had a lot of fun at their session, and I think we walked away with a lot of really cute pictures that day. :)
